ORANGE COUNTY—The Armenian Revolutionary Federation “Armen Karo” Social Committee has organized a “Khrakhjank” celebrating the 91st anniversary of the Febraury Revolt of 1921. The celebration will take place on Saturday, February 18 at 8 p.m. at Gugasian Hall in Orange County and will feature Armenian patriotic and revolutionary songs performed by Karnig Sarkissian.
“We are excited to have Karnig back in his hometown of Orange County performing for such an important occasion,” said committee Chairwoman, Zepur Ohanessian stated. “The community has always supported such events and this time we are seeing an incredible demand as people realize that Karnig in OC always makes for a spectacular night!”
The organizing committee has also made special arrangements for Setrak Garabedian to be present and stream the entire night online via his internet radio station, www.TrikTrak.ca, which had more than 2 million visitors last month alone. He will also be playing Armenian music prior to Karnig Sarkissian’s performance and will conduct brief and impromptu live interviews with some of the attendees, including representatives of the various Armenian Organizations.
“We’re excited to broadcast live and have Setrak, a former AYF Western Region Central Executive member be with us for the night,” ARF “Armen Karo” Gomideh member, Giro Donabedian said. “Setrak’s presence has created an enormous buzz among current and former AYF members throughout Southern California who plan to attend and have an AYF reunion creating a perfect scenario to celebrate the February Revolt with Karnig!”
When the committee contacted Garabedian to discuss streaming the evening’s festivities, he immediately agreed and said, “I’m excited to come back to Southern California, stream the entire night, and celebrate the February Revolt with all my friends while listening to Karnig!”
“I’ve had the honor of serving on the AYF Central Executive with Setrak, who has always remained involved in our organizations and has set an example for future generations,” ARF “Armen Karo” Gomideh Chairman, Garo Madenlian stated. “I’m looking forward to spending an amazing night with our former and current AYF members, and our entire community as we celebrate the importance of the February Revolt.”
