Gul Wants Turkic Summit to be Held in Karabakh

Turkish President Abdullah Gul addresses the Turkic summit

GABALA, Azerbaijan—Turkish President Abdullah Gul said Friday that he wishes one day the summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States would be held in Nagorno-Karabakh, reported the APA news agency.

“I wish the summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States to be held in Nagorno Karabakh in future,” said Gul who was addressing the summit currently taking place in the northern Azeri city.

Gul said that Turkey will make every effort to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, adding that Turkey has always supported Azerbaijan on this issue and will continue to do so in the future.

“One of the main problems of the Turkic world is the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Occupation of 20 per cent of Azerbaijani territory is unacceptable. Therefore, the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States supports an early resolution of this conflict,” Gul said, according to the Trend news agency.

The summit, being attended by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Turkey Abdullah Gul, President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, is the third of its kind to be held in recent years.

At the conclusion of the summit, participants issued a declaration pledging an end to the Karabakh conflict.

In the joint declaration the parties reiterated the importance they attach to the peaceful settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which is one of the main obstacles to lasting stability and regional cooperation on the basis of sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders of Azerbaijan.

The parties emphasized the aim at strengthening political and economic security of the States in accordance with the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders, non-interference in internal affairs.

LOL – The audacity and arrogance of these illegally settled Asiatic mutts is unbelievable. The only thing Turkic that will take place in Karabakh is their destruction. And one day an Armenian summit will be held in Van then Erzeroum then Adana.

Well, they’re investing most of their money on military. We all know they’re lost without western help, but one has to admin, the recent Azeri tie with Russia is scary. I think the Russians finally converted over to a true Capitalistic State. They have no need for Armenia if they can tie up Azerbejian and work them against Turkey. After all, mer esh Hyer tried to fight them for freedom. There you have it, your freedom. Boloret pakhak mer hyerenikitz hervitz xosum ek esh esh. Serzh is bad, everyone is bad, don’t support any president. Cheh esher! You are bad! For leaving your country.

So, Abdullah Gul is worried about Armenia’s land claim!! Very interesting soccer diplomacy matches developing in South Caucasus!! Sergik must be ashamed of himself, that he shook hand with this moron Turk!

It’s so nice to see them make their own rules, that favor them… If it’s like that then Europe can make the claim to kick all Muslim nation out to Arabian peninsula, and while we at it including all of North Africa.

Out of all that land that Turkey and Azerbaijan has, yet they are demanding and dreaming about Turkic Summit…in Karabakh…Dream on my friend………..Where are the Greeks from Greece, and Cypriot Greeks, our friends, why can’t they DEMAND their 46% occupied lands from Northern Cypress. It is very puzzling to me…….Perhaps, Armenia also needs to put a precondition on the table with Turkey to remove it’s forces from occupied Northern Cypress……before any peace talks

  7. Hrant K. said:

And this so called “President” was being accused by other turks of having Armenian roots???!!! And that only, during
the “Football Diplomacy” era! His Madman-Prime-Fascio-minister after having bloodstained his hands in Egypt and Syria, has lost his grip even in his own backyard, mainly in Taksim(turkish Tahrir) square, which was an Armenian Graveyard and a Church Square!!!

I hope, one day a Greek and Armenian Speaking States summit would be held in Northern Cyprus after expelling and deporting all Turks from that island.

I wish one day that Western Armenia is returned to its rightful owners. Anyone can wish anything they want. I am sure the Greek Cypriots would like to return to their homes in their country where 40% of their land is being occupied by Turkey for the last 39 years. What President Gul is doing is know as “Palavra” in Turkish.

Gul says ‘…Occupation of 20 per cent of Azerbaijani territory is unacceptable.’, does he imply that 19 percemt acceptable? Seems so if you were to read between the lines.

The “main obstacle” to stability in the Caucasus is the refusal(thus far) of Azerbaijan to accept the reality that they oppressed the Armenian population in an historic Armenian province, they started a war in order to deny our people freedom, lost the war( and the resulting territorial loss) and are frustrated and embarrassed to watch the brave Karabagh Armenians built a nation based on democratic principles.

Turkish President Abdullah Gul should worry more to keep Turkey in 1 piece than to meddle in Artsakh (former Nagorno-Karabakh) affairs, popular revolution is brewing in Turkey, soon he will have to liberate the devided Turkey from the hands of the Kurds, the Alevis, and others

Abdullah Gul’s wish to have the summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States can be held in Nagorno Karabakh when the Turkish speaking people are smart enough to voluntarily return the Historic Armenian Territories back to the rightful owners, The Armenian People!

  23. Danilo Fuligno said:

So, if the principle of the territorial integrity should be applied, let’s Turkey give back to Armenia the lands occupied after Genocide, let Kosovo give back land to Serbia, let’s consider the creation of Azerbaijan as unlegal deal of Stalin with turkish-speaking people for the sake of oil supplies.
The truth we all see is only one: the muslims are spreading all around the world, and they pretend to get lands and dictate their culture to existing populations.
    This has a name: colonialism.

  24. Fredrick said:

First I would encourage them to hold their summit in Artsakh, We could use the tourist revenue!!

Funny statements,.They are complaining that the owner of the property has taken back his stolen property. If they have any serious complaints they should go to Stalin and complain. I am sure they will meet him anyway without the seventy virgins surrounding them If they want to talk about property rights and 20% of Azerbaijan stolen then they should be ready to discus Northern Cyprus and the Armenian lands that they have stolen,

  25. lobo said:

Occupation of approx. 100 % of Turkey’s territory today is unacceptable, Mr. Gul, I would like to see an Aramaic, Greek, and Armenian summit in Tigranakerta, Bolis and Nachichevan. Meanwhile we can discuss that despite the downsides of the war for independence by the population of what was then known as Nagorno-Karabakh, the fact that no language of Mongolian heritage and mindset is longer being spoken in Artsakh. Hurray for that.

I hope at that summit, Turkish President Abdullah Gul will remember the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders, non-interference in internal affairs real well, and do first himself accordingly by his own government to get out of 80% occupied Armenians lands, where his predecessors did the Armenian genocide, same time demand from Azeri government to get out of Armenian land Nakhichevan, and do not call Artsakh by it’s occupation name Nagorno- Karabakh, remembering it wasn’t long time ago, when communist leader J. Stalin, didn’t know about the people rights of self determination, and he did it for them by himself, putting Armenian populated and historically Armenian lands under Azeri occupation, now peacefully if you will, let us make corrections of the devil’s mistakes and do not repeat them again any more.

  30. Gazzo said:

Why do we have to repeat the asinine claims from this Turk Gul? How does he think, how does he dare to cross his mind to hold a summit of Turkics in Armenia? Or in NKR which is the same thing. A monument to absurdity.but then we are dealing with stubborn and absurd echekner.

  31. Masis said:

It seems that Gul effendy still live in the ottoman era , let Gul dream as he is living in Ottoman Empire. His master for example speak to stop the genocide in Egypt , an Egyptian tv responded him. Did you forget mr Erdogan your Genocide and the massacres against Armenians ?

  33. Ararat said:

Abdullah Hayvanoglu Gul, get your facts straight eshegoglu. The Armenians are not occupying anyone’s lands. You are occupying 90% of Armenian homeland. It is the Armenians from Armenian-Speaking four corners of the world who are going to hold their victory summit in their future capital city of Vaspurakan (Van). You and the other two Turkish stooges, Erdogan and Ahmet Gotverenoglu, keep barking like dogs it is very becoming and comes natural to Turkish wolves. The fourth pseudo-Turkish stooge Aliyev in due time will be tried and executed in Karabakh.

In the meantime, take your Turkic-Speaking summit and shove it where sun don’t shine.

  34. Gary_S said:

Why doesn’t Gul want it to be held in Tashkent or Mongolia where the Turks are from and belong???

  36. Jared said:

I always got the impression that the other Turkic states (not Turkey and Azerbaijan but the other states) did not have any problems with Armenians.

I could understand this whole stupid idea if Armenia had simply stolen the land, but that’s not what happened. The people of Nagorno-Karabagh freed themselves from Azeri tyranny. While I am sure many Azeris left Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabagh), it is also true that Armenians had to flee from Azerbaijan proper. It’s sad we cannot put the past behind us, but it’s difficult when the present is so thorny. After all, the present is determined by the past.
