CASPS Teams Up with Lark for Komitas Tribute

“The Ever-Ringing Belfry” will be performed by Lark Musical Society

GLENDALE—The Committee for Armenian Students in Public Schools (CASPS) announced a unique fundraising event, performed by Lark Musical Society, benefiting Armenian students in public schools. LARK will present “The Ever-Ringing Belfry,” with music and poetry dedicated to Komitas, on Sunday, November 24, 2013, 3:00 p.m., at the Colburn School of Performing Arts.

The collaboration of CASPS and LARK is a very befitting one since both organizations strive for the betterment of Armenian youth through education. Since 1994, CASPS has provided academic as well as social support to thousands of Armenian students in both the Glendale and Los Angeles Unified School Districts. Services to public school students include, but are not limited to, counseling, clinical group therapy, leadership development, honoring of high achievers, art contests, and tutoring.

Since its inception in 1989, Lark Musical Society has been dedicated to the “promotion and development of Armenian aesthetic and intellectual values”, culminating in the establishment of Lark Music Conservatory in 1996. Lark is recognized nationally and internationally for researching and publishing more than 30 scholarly treatises and anthologies, for organizing concerts, and for hosting lectures and symposia.  To date, Lark has educated hundreds of students in a wide range of musical studies, establishing itself as a vibrant feature of not only the Armenian Diaspora, but most especially, of the Southern California Arts Community.

For about two decades, both organizations have designed their respective programs and activities with a single common goal in mind: the overall development and success of our youth.  With the shared philosophy of contributing to the betterment of young Armenians, CASPS and LARK are looking forward to this, our first collaborative effort. We invite the public to join us at the Colburn School of Performing Arts on November 24, 2013 for what is sure to be a very enjoyable performance.

Tickets for the event may be secured online at, or by calling (818) 222-7170 or (818) 249-5044. Special parking rate for the event is available at Joe’s Auto Parks #140: $4.00 with proof of Zipper Hall tickets.
