Homenetmen and Woodbury University to Host Second Leadership Seminar

Glendale Homenetmen and Woodbury University present Elevate 2014

BURBANK—Building on the previous Elevate 2012 Conference Seminar, the Homenetmen Glendale “Ararat” Chapter and Woodbury University will host their second Armenian American Leadership Seminar, Elevate 2014, on Saturday, March 29, from 9 am to 1 pm at Woodbury Universities’ Fletcher Jones Foundation Auditorium.

This partnership was originally formed in 2012 by attentive community leaders who recognized growing community calls for a medium through which to develop and instill within its youth the leadership skills that elevate and empower them to become productive citizens and influential members of society.

The event, for which well over 250 people are expected to attend, will feature speakers such as Katherine Sarafian, Academy Award Winning Producer at Pixar Animation Studios; Luis Ma. R. Calingo, Ph.D., President, Woodbury University; Mikayel Israyelyan, Entrepreneur and CEO of Muse Lifestyle Group; Scott Ochoa, City Manager for City of Glendale; Arby Nahapetyan M.D., Chief of Staff of Glendale Adventist Medical Center; and longtime community leader, philanthropist, and founder and president of Massis Kabob, Hacop Baghdassarian, who will be honored with the 2014 Elevate Leadership Award.

Also attending are UFC @ MMA Superstars Edmond Tarverdyan, UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey’s trainer; Jessamyn “The Gun” Duke; Shayna “The Queen of Spades” Baszler; and Marina Shafir, who are expected to be on hand to sign autographs and participate in photo opportunities.

Admission to this conference, for those who RSVP, is free and includes complimentary Continental Breakfast, refreshments and lunch. This event is open to the public; however, due to the overwhelming public response it received last year, registration for this event is expected to close quickly. However, by special arrangement, credentialed members of the media are welcome to attend and in standard fashion, will be accommodated.
