Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin met with the Minsk Group Co-Chairs in Moscow

MOSCOW—Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin had a meeting on Thursday with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Igor Popov (Russia), James Warlick (USA) and Jacques Faure (France) and the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzey Kasprzyk in Moscow.

The parties discussed the urgent issues in the process of settlement of the Karabakh conflict, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

“Consultations in Moscow on Nagorno-Karabakh were valuable. The US, Russia, and France will work together to support efforts for peace,” US Co-Chair James Warkick said in a Twitter post.

The Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group conducted a series of meetings from February 22 to March 11 in Paris and Moscow with the Foreign Ministers of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, and Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov. Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk, the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, also participated in the meetings.

The Co-Chairs continued working with the ministers to address issues raised by the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan during their November 2013 meeting in Vienna. The Ministers reiterated their desire to resolve the remaining issues, and move the process forward.

The Co-Chairs emphasized the value of continued cooperation and agreed on the need for further talks at the highest level to advance the peace process. The Co-Chairs plan to visit the region in the next month.
