Armenian Cemetery Found Near Urfa Fortress

URFA, Turkey (Armenpress)—Archeological excavations carried out by the Sanliurfa Museum of Turkey have revealed Armenian and Christian cemeteries near the Urfa fortress, Turkish news agency reports. Historical remnants and images of Saint Mary and Jesus Christ were found in the excavated area.

The town of Urfa had a sizable and historic Armenian population until the Armenian Genocide of 1915.
