YEREVAN—Twitter Vice President and Tumo board member Raffi Krikorian met with Armenia’s President Serzh Sarkisian on Thursday after arriving in Yerevan at the invitation of Armenia’s Tumo Center for Creative Technologies, the President’s press office reported.
Sarkisian welcomed the visit, which he said was an opportunity to learn more about Tumo’s educational programs, support the development of education in computer programming, and discuss global trends in IT with Armenian specialists.
Noting that the development of the IT sector is among the priorities of Armenia’s economy, President Sarkisian stressed the importance of creating cooperation and the exchange of knowledge with Armenian specialists.
Raffi Krikorian said his meetings with a number of people and organizations in Armenia have been inspiring, as there are encouraging examples that show a promising future for the development of Information Technologies in Armenia.
Tomorrow Krikorian will give a public lecture on Software Development Management titled “The Things that Turn Out to Matter” about lessons learned while running engineering at Twitter.
