MOSCOW (ArmRadio)—“Baku is doing its best to make us forget how the ceasefire agreement was reached. Ilham Aliyev is glorifying his father, at the same time forgetting to implement the documents adopted with the latter’s consent, one of which clearly states that ‘The Karabakh conflict should be solved exceptionally in a peaceful way,’” former Russian Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Vladimir Kazimirov told a press conference Friday.
In an article published by Moscow-based Regnum news agency on the 20th anniversary of the ceasefire, Kazimirov presented an interesting statistic, which he reiterated to reporters on Friday. “During the war, the Azerbaijani side frustrated 20 peace initiatives, while the Armenian parties denied only four,” he said.
According to Kazimirov, Azerbaijan’s policy only harms the process. However, the former co-chair congratulated Armenia, Artsakh and Azerbaijan on the 20th anniversary of the ceasefire, since it has at least managed to prevent mass bloodshed.
Kazimirov said everything should be done to resolve the conflict in a peaceful way. “We must work towards the reinforcement of peace,” he said. The ex-mediator is confident that “we are closer to peace than war,” despite Azerbaijan’s bellicose rhetoric and tension at the border.
To what extent will Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union affect the Artsakh conflict? According to Kazimirov, these are two unrelated processes.
As for the deployment of peacekeepers at the Artsakh conflict zone, Kazimirov said the issue is not on the agenda today.
Where are our resident russophobes..?
I don’t care about what the “ex-Co-Chair” says, I care about what the current one says.
Everything is out the window. The old ceasefire agreements are obsolete. Russia’s only concern now is to have control and if that means appeasing Azerbaijan with the hand over of Artsakh, then that is what it will do.
All of the past and present OSCE chairs can go back to their home. They are all danger to the security of Armenia and Artsakh. All can go to” HELL” if this is the right world to say.
If there a genuine desire in all parts, then United States, Russia, France and all others stop selling arms to Turkey and Azerbaijan and recognize the independence of Artsakh, recognize the Armenian Genocide and the just cause of the Armenian Nation and people.
Otherwise, you are all wasting your time. Go back to your countries and families and enjoy your meaningless and fruitless lives. Enough of having the Armenians killed on Armenian lands because you are so stupid to have your stupid wars fought in your homes.
Artsakh is free and independent and can defend itself. Stop arming these barbarian Turks.
