YEREVAN (Armenpress)—Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian hosted his Lithuania counterpart Linas Linkevičius on Friday.

Welcoming the guest, who is on official visit to Armenia, Edward Nalbandian said, “Relations between Armenia and Lithuania are developing very dynamically.”

Nalbandian reminded that Lithuania belongs to a list of countries who have officially recognized the Armenian Genocide. Nalbandian said that the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Lithuanian Seimas in 2005 proved once more the Lithuanian nation’s commitment to humane values and justice.

Lithuania and Armenia have untapped opportunities to boost their trade relations, Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius said during a joint press conference with Nalbandian after their meeting.

He stressed that both Lithuania and the European Union are ready to develop relations with Armenia in all spheres as partners, but that “the only question is to what extent that is compatible with the political course chosen by Armenia.”

Nalbandian told journalists that the two discussed international issues, the Ukrainian crisis, the situation in the Middle East, and touched upon the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
