BAKU—Azerbaijani and Turkish officials met Thursday to discussed cooperation in military and defense fields.
Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov received a delegation headed by Turkish Deputy Defense Minister Hasan Kemal Yardimci on Thursday, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported.
Hasanov said military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey is based on “friendly and fraternal relations.”
Speaking about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Hasanov said, “The liberation of Azerbaijani lands occupied by Armenia is of great importance for the region.”
Yardimci called the visit important for strengthening relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan.
