YEREVAN—Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend the Armenian Genocide commemoration events in Yerevan, Speaker of the Russian State Duma Sergey Naryshkin said at a meeting with Armenian Parliament Speaker Galust Sahakyan. A number of Russian lawmakers are also expected to attend the events.
Naryshkin said the State Duma will adopt a document in the near future to express the position of the Russian side on these historic events.
Sergey Nayshkin also attached importance to the conduct of events in Armenia dedicated to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and emphasized the role of the Armenian people in that victory.
Galust Sahakyan voiced hope that the visit would boost the inter-state relations between the two countries and promote the further strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation. He noted that the allied relationship and strategic partnership between Armenia and Russia is based on the centuries-old friendship of the two peoples, and on strong cultural and spiritual ties.
The Armenian Parliament Speaker highlighted Russia’s constructive role in the strengthening of regional security, particularly in the settlement process of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
This man is one of the greatest leaders in human history. May God bless him and grant him a very long and productive life.
This person you are worshiping is the same person who claims that the worst thing that ever befell of Russia was the dissolution of the Soviet Union. In other words, h would have loved to be head of a communist state still holding Armenia and the other republics as communist slaves.
I agree with the great leader of the Russian nation. In fact, the same applies to Armenia: The sudden and total collapse of the Soviet Union was the worst thing that happened to Armenia after the Armenian Genocide. Armenia’s was much better off under the Soviet Union than it is today. The Soviet system should not have collapsed the way it did, it should have instead evolved like what has been happening in China. At the end of the day, I would rather Armenia be a “slave” of the Soviet Union than live constantly on the edge of destruction under the mercy of the degenerate Anglo-American-Jewish world order you seem to love so much.
PS: Aren’t you tired of constantly changing your user name? Your Russophopbic nonsense is getting very stale.
It’s unfortunate that this paper tiger can not influence others in the region to recognize the Genocide. Their spotty reputation will not allow for such a leadership role. His presence will further undermine Armenia’s image to the rest of the world. Most leaders will undoubtedly use his presence as an excuse to skip out on the centennial commemorations in Yerevan. Most leaders do not want to be seen in a group photo with someone suspected of arming rebels, land grabbing, downing a civilian airliner, assassinating opposition leaders and propping a regime accused of using chemical weapons and barrel bombs. The only person that will really benefit is Putin himself. He will take center stage to show how compassionate he is, however, this will boomerang back to Armenia’s image. We’ll be seen as collaborating with relics from the past.
You sound like a relic of the past. Or one of those who tries to revive cold wars and extend unresolved conflicts!
Armenians all over the world welcome arrival of this unique political leader who genuinely works for the prosperity and stability of the country and is consistent in its foreign policy.
Of course there are weak people who would prefer to blame him in their failures. But it is so human and understandable! Will we miss “leaders” from us, israel or turkey? You should easily guess the answer, even in the state of emergency.
You sound like a poster boy for the U.S. state department. I heard the CIA and MOSSAD are looking for a few good stooges, you should apply and officially become the western dissenting mouth piece in the Armenian community. Man you sound like such a broken record, every article of the word Russia is mentioned, you are ready to whine and bicker. The only “state of emergency” here is you incessant moaning and groaning about Putin or Russia. Asbarez try to publish some more balanced comments, enough of this garbage.

Thank You.
God Bless You President Putin, You are a Brave and Courageous President and it is with people like you that we can have Justice and Peace in this world. I ask all those who are going to turkey on April 24 , 2015 to celebrate the Big Lie of gallipoly of the turkish genocidal regime , to stop this cowardess decision and head to Armenia and pay respect to the 1,500,000 Martyrs and Saints who were massacred by the turkish criminal regime.
Justice and Peace in this world…LOL….good one!!!
Although it is only a symbolic gesture it is still highly appreciated
God bless President Putin. Armenia is proud to be associated in an alliance and strategic partnership with Russia. Compare Presdident Putin to the herd of emasculated eunuchs like Obama, Cameron, Merke netanuik and other western invertebratesl, It is chalk and cheese. Long live the brotherly partnership of the motherland and Russia. There are no sufficient words of gratitude for President Putin humble gesture of paying honors to our Martyrs
