Mike Sarian was awarded the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor in New York on May 9.
Sarian is President of Operations at Prime Healthcare Services Inc., a nationwide hospital company based in Ontario, California. He has extensive background in hospital and medical group administration spanning over 25 years. He is the highest American-Armenian executive in the field of healthcare in the United States.
Sarian is active in healthcare policy in California and the nation. He is a member of the executive board of the California Hospital Association which represents over 500 hospitals and healthcare systems in California.
Sarian is also active in several civic and charitable organizations, serving on multiple boards of non-profit organizations to help the poor and needy. He has donated his time and support to the Venice Family Clinic, American Juvenile Diabetic Association, and Colon Cancer Society in the US and Canada.
Sarian has generously supported the Armenian National Committee of America, Armenian Relief Society, Armenian Cultural Foundation, Hamazkayin, AGBU, Sahag Mesrob Armenian School, Armenian churches and other community and charitable organizations.
Last year, Sarian donated through his company over $2 million dollars of medical equipment and supplies to 15 hospitals in Armenia. This year, he is sending several million dollars of equipment through the United Armenian Fund to be distributed by the Health Ministry of Armenia. The donated medical equipment and supplies will save countless lives and help meet the Armenian population’s medical needs at local hospitals.
Sarian strongly believes in preserving the Armenian heritage in the Diaspora, maintaining the unique identity of American-Armenians, and the unity of all Armenians. He grew up in Lebanon dreaming of an independent Armenian homeland. His dream now is a united independent Armenia with the Armenian flag flying over Mount Ararat and Western Armenia.
For his contributions to America, the Armenian community of California and Armenia, Sarian was awarded the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
