LOS ANGELES (Los Angeles Time)—Chef Vartan Abgaryan will be the chef and partner of a new Los Angeles restaurant, 71Above, scheduled to open in March 2016, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Abgaryan, who emigrated from Armenia with his family in 1991, attended Le Cordon Bleu before working at several Los Angeles restaurants. His latest work as executive chef of Cliff’s Edge in Silver Lake caught the attention of entrepreneur Emil Eyvavoff, who offered Abgaryan his newest role at the proposed restaurant, located on the 71st floor of the US Bank Tower in downtown Los Angeles.

According to Cliff’s Edge, Abgaryan brings “modern California cuisine, with the emphasis on seasonal local farmer’s market produce, prepared carefully and seasoned creatively.”
