YEREVAN (ARMENPRESS)—The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Defense Ministry has reported that four Azeri troops were killed over the weekend while fifteen more were wounded in a new ceasefire violation by Azerbaijan.
Azeri forces are said to have fired artillery weapons of different caliber (including 60, 82 and 120 mm mortars) in the direction of Armenian forces on the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The NKR Defense Army retaliated in an effort to quell Azerbaijan’s provocations. According to the Defense Ministry, at least four Azeri soldiers were killed, and another fifteen were wounded.
According to the Defense Ministry of the Republic of Armenia, Armenian forces suffered no causalities, refuting claims made by Azerbaijan that five Armenian soldiers were killed in the weekend attack.
Artsrun Hovhannisyan, spokesman for the Defense Ministry of the Republic of Armenia, told Armenpress that, “The Armenian side has no victims. It’s misinformation spread by Azerbaijan.”
