YEREVAN (Public Radio of Armenia)—Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan met with newly appointed Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Switalski today in Yerevan.
During the meeting, Abrahamyan emphasized that Armenia-EU relations are based on common values. He reiterated Armenia’s commitment to continued development of cooperation with the EU.
Abrahamyan praised Armenia’s joint work with the EU Delegation and noted that there is great potential for deepening comprehensive bilateral cooperation and to reach greater achievements.
Switalski pledged to do his best to deepen Armenia-EU ties. He agreed that a common value system lies at the basis of Armenia-EU cooperation and noted that the EU is interested in further deepening relations with Armenia.
Abrahamyan and Switalksi exchanged their views on the expansion of bilateral cooperation and future plans. They noted the importance the President of the European Council Donald Tusk’s visit to Armenia this summer and other high-level contacts, which provide an opportunity to set new directions for cooperation.
Abrahamyan expressed gratitude for the continuous financial assistance and consulting, stressing that the Armenian government actively cooperates with different EU agencies and is consistent in meeting all its commitments.
