YEREVAN (Tert.am)—International organizations should consult with OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs before issuing reports on Nagorno-Karabakh, U.S. Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick has said in response to the a PACE Committee’s adoption of a controversial anti-Armenian report this week.
“The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and other international organizations should consult with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs before issuing reports or resolutions on Nagorno Karabakh,” Warlick said in a Twitter post.
On Thursday, November 5, the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), approved an anti-Armenian report entitled “Escalation of Violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and Other Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan” by Robert Walter (United Kingdom, EC), a rapporteur of the PACE Political Affairs Committee. The report contained numerous anti-Armenian wordings that were unacceptable to both Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
In July, Asbarez reported that Walter had received Turkish citizenship. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu personally handed Walter his new Turkish ID card at the Turkish Embassy in London. Walter, who is married to a Turkish woman, reportedly expressed delight over his new dual citizenship.
The Armenian delegation proposed dismissing the subject and appointing a new rapporteur, who would be more impartial and present an unbiased report reflecting the real state of affairs, rather than one executing Azerbaijan’s orders. The proposal was declined.
Mr.James Warlick, To little, to late , if OSCE Minsk Group keeps playing with their bls, the situation will get worst.
The OSCE and the Minsk group have the tools to apply sanctions against the terrorist state, Azerbaijan, and increase those sanctions according to the ceasefire violations. We should all see to it that this is done.
