BRUSSELS (Armenpress)–Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on Monday met with Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini to kick off a round of talks on a new, legal framework document between Armenia and Europe.
In this context, Nalbandian said that active discussions will lead Armenia and the European Union to reach an agreement over the new framework document which will display the depth and volume of bilateral relations and will set new landmarks for mutually beneficial cooperation.
Nalbandian stressed the importance of EC’s decision about the differentiation principle for partners.
Both sides also touched upon the issue of visa liberalization during the meeting.
Nalbandian informed the High Representative about the December 6 referendum in Armenia and its results.
The interlocutors referred to international fight against terrorism, situation in the Middle East and some other regional and international problems, and discussed the implementation process of the agreement over Iran’s nuclear program.
Nalbandian introduced Mogherini to the efforts of Armenia and OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs aimed at a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Mogherini reiterated the EU’s support for the activities of OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs.
