LOS ANGELES — Well known author and economist Richard Wolff will be the keynote speaker at this year’s “Armenians and Progressive Politics” hosted by the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Shant Student Association, the Armenian Youth Federation, and the All-Armenian Student Association. KPFK-90.7FM will be the conference’s official media sponsor.
The conference will focus on progressive economics and social movements. It will be held at the Mosher Auditorium at Occidental College on Saturday, February 6th starting with registration at 9:30 a.m.
Wolff is currently the Professor of Economics Emeritus at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and a visiting professor at the New School University in New York. His recent work has concentrated on analyzing causes and alternative solutions to the global economic crisis.
Wolf is the author of several books including “Democracy at Work: A Cure for Capitalism”, which inspired the creation of Democracy at Work, a nonprofit organization dedicated to showing why and how to make democratic workplaces real. He writes regularly for “The Guardian” and Truthout.org, appears frequently on television, and speaks on radio to discuss his works.
Rounding out the conference will be panels about social movements and current economics. More details will be release soon.
