Chamlian Celebrates 41st Anniversary at Annual Gala

GLENDALE — Chamlian Armenian School held its Annual Gala Banquet on Saturday, February 20, 2015, with over 300 guests in attendance. The event took place at Palladio Banquet Hall in Glendale, California.

The READ themed Gala event, organized by Chamlian’s Parent Support Committee (PSC) Dinner Dance Sub Committee, was a huge success. All funds raised from the event are earmarked towards the renovation of the school library which will be dedicated to our dearest Anita Torosian.

The evening’s program began with opening remarks by Dr. Karineh Abnous, Gala Committee Chairperson. Dr. Abnous thanked her co-chair, Tamar Saghdejian, as well as the PSC Executive Liason, Shake Hambarchian, the entire PSC, and Dinner Dance Committee for their collaboration, cooperation and hard work. Artin Ghazarian, Library Committee Chair, then provided a moving message outlining the goals of the committee, the overall plans for the renovation, in addition to a personal message about Anita based on their friendship spanning over two decades, as well as her tremendous dedication, efforts, and legacy as an educator.

Chamlian’s Principal, Dr. Talin P. Kargodorian, also provided a message regarding the successes of the school over the last 41 years, the future goals of the school, and the upcoming library,which will be called the Anita Torosian Literacy and Resource Center in dedication to Anita’s legacy and everlasting memory. Dr. Kargodorian also thanked all the stakeholders of the Chamlian family for always working together for the success of school.

Finally, Dr. Kargodorian recognized the teachers who were present at the Dinner Dance. Guests saluted the dedicated and hardworking Chamlian teachers, staff, and administration!

Chamlian Armenian School would like to congratulate the Dinner Dance Committee members for their hard work, as well as the Library Committee members for their vision and perseverance. The school is also grateful to the countless parent volunteers and community members who have stood steadfast throughout the years in support of Chamlian Armenian School and all its efforts.
