So It Ends…

ENCINO — All good things must come to an end. The Cinderella story for the Holy Martyrs Ferrahian Armens Varsity Girls Basketball team is over as they lost to Bellarmine-Jefferson, 56-39 in the second round of the CIF state playoffs in a tale of two halves.

The Armens jumped to an early lead thanks to the hot shooting of Sarine Kazandjian. In the second half, Bellarmine-Jefferson finally found their groove and went on a huge run, overtook the Armens, and never looked back.

Nevertheless, it has been a tremendous season for the Armens as they made history becoming the first Armens Girls Varsity Basketball team to win a CIF championship, earning the school and the program the title that has eluded them for quite some time.

As this memorable season ends, the future looks bright as the team returns next year with virtually their entire team intact. Repeating as champs will be the quest and a deeper run into the state playoffs and a state championship the goal.
