WASHINGTON — Armenian National Committee of America Executive Director Aram Hamparian called for immediate Obama Administration action to stop Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s latest attacks against Nagorno Karabakh – the worst since the ceasefire established in 1994.

Hamparian stated:

“Only hours after being warmly welcomed in Washington by the Obama Administration, Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev launched large-scale attacks along the entire Artsakh-Azerbaijan line of contact. Several fatalities, including an Armenian child, have been reported.”

“Vice President Biden, in personally meeting Azerbaijani President Aliyev in this manner – without any public challenge to his escalating regional aggression and worsening domestic repression – openly emboldened his belligerence while actively undermining American efforts to keep the peace and reach a negotiated settlement.”

“Secretary Kerry in his public remarks with President Aliyev, regretfully, made no mention at all of any American concerns regarding President Aliyev’s threats and acts of violence or his crackdown on domestic dissent. There has, as well, been no mention, in the public record, of the life-saving Royce-Engel peace proposals that the State Department has publicly supported.”

“The Obama Administration’s failure, in Washington, to confront Azerbaijan’s aggression gave Aliyev the green light to launch these attacks on Karabakh.”

“Immediate action must be taken by the Obama Administration to stop President Aliyev’s latest attacks, along with concrete steps to ensure a lasting peace in the region which respects the right to self-determination and freedom for the people of Nagorno Karabakh.”

Obama’s administration will do sweet nothing! Only the Armenian army can put a stop to this barbarity. We can not afford and wait and see what Obama will say or do….the very same man who is scared to even utter the word “genocide”so scared is he of Turks and Turkey. The same goes with the rest of his “administration team”! What has Obama done for us so far?I refrain from saying it as it is not a very nice word!

As the whole world have seen how the extremest Muslims like Isis captured innocent Christian and beheaded them all,and the biggest support Isis and Azerbaijan getting is from Turkey,Turkey’s interest is to weaken Armenians so they do not have to deal in realty one day about their crime of genocide against Armenians and taking historic western Armenian lands.
Armenians should have good relation with Russia, America and Europe,But Armenia should invest in creating its own weapon that can change the balance of power in the region,So you cant always depend on others to save you even if the others are you friend today.
It took one bomb to stop the war with Japan otherwise it who’d have been 100 times more casualties, and today America and Japan are allies and america protect japan.
look at the Israel today and the Arabs because of Israelis have the bomb their is no war between them otherwise could be millions of casualties, 700 million people VS 5 million billions of oil money Vs zero oil money.
I agree with Trump nations need to do whatever they can to protect themselves.
