BERLIN (ArmRadio)—German-Turkish film director Fatih Akin and other artists urge Chancellor Angela Merkel and the Bundestag to finally call the Armenian Genocide as such, Die Zeit reports.

In an open letter the artists call “to take a stand on June 2 and refer to the crimes committed against the Armenian people as genocide. This is more than a historical period; more than an apology to the descendants of the victims. “Imagine you lived in Germany and the Holocaust would be denied – would that not be a continuation of the actual fact?”

Among the signatories of the open letter are Markus Rindt, Head of the Dresden Symphony Orchestra, German-Turkish-Armenian composer and guitarist Marc Sinan director of Kampnagel theatre in Hamburg Amelie Deuflhardand the general director of the Saxon State Library, Thomas Bürger.

In the open letter to Merkel and the deputies, the artists write: “We, therefore, call on you today to stand by the fundamental European values and find the correct wording. Armenian Genocide denial creates the basis for violence in the present. In 1915 the Armenians were called terrorists, their property was expropriated, and only in 2015 more than 5,000 Kurds have been killed in Turkey because they are supposed to be terrorists. This became possible because Turkey systematically refuses to face its history.”

“The Bundestag and its predecessor institutions have been silent on the Armenian Genocide for 100 years now,” the artists say.

The Bundestag is set to vote on a cross-party bill on Armenian Genocide on June 2.

    A) This particular Turk calls Germans to act reasonably. This is an anecdote.
    I. Kant, A. Schopenhauer, F. Nietzsche serve to German Parliament as reference for acting reasonably. For instance, “All our knowledge begins with the senses, proceeds then to the understanding, and ends with reason. There is nothing higher than reason. I. Kant”
    B) This particular Turk – Foreign Ministry spokesman(!), calls a genocide an “issue”. Then what kind of human-produced-mass killing has higher ranking in this office vocabulary?
    C) Recently, Turkish government openly uses tactics of blackmailing: “It is possible that if the resolution is approved, Turks living in Germany and Turkey will react seriously” . So, just i) because of the “possibility”, the German Parliament should fail to act in spirit of its spiritual leaders mentioned in A); ii) “Turks … will react seriously”, meaning pogroms will take place? So, this particular Turk assumes that his compatriots start pogroms when getting serious?
I hope Germany will show a stance deserving its genius founding sons and daughters. I am sure that June 2 is a testing for this nation, in a first place. I doubt, however, that Germany of today has the society that its great founders tried to shape. Judge yourself – somebody as low educated and spirited as this spokesman finds air in his lungs to “challenge” the lawmakers of the German Parliament. This speaks a deal about Germany’s image.

The above post belongs to the article “Turkey Warns Germany Against Armenian Genocide Recognition” take out right after the posting. This illustrates the degree of Turkish and Azeri watchdogs penetration into media.

Let me tell you how this will play out: As in the past the Turks will send or have already sent HIGH LEVEL delegates to Germany to coerce, threaten, bribe, make deals, argue and basically will eventually all hinge on the migrant flow that if the Germany RIGHTFULLY recognizes the Armenian Genocide, then Turkey will let the war migrants, that’s its directly responsible for, flow to Europe again unabated. And the Germans will capitulate again…Somehow after 101 years it wont be the “right time” again.. Watch..
