LOS ANGELES—Los Angeles based writer and illustrator, Taleen Keldjian, has released her first book Fútbol!: A Fun Doodle Book On All Things Fútbol, a doodle book debut educating children ages 4-9 on the internationally popular sport. The book also introduces young readers to today’s famous athletes such as Alex Morgan (US) and Lionel Messi (Argentina)— as well as some unique cultural traditions that countries follow to cheer on their teams.
Some activities include coloring, connect-the-dots, matching, note the difference, step-by-step drawing and word search. Her creative use of design and color makes for unique activities— all the while educating readers in the enjoyable realities of the game of fútbol. Despite its Spanish title, the 27 page book is written in English.
Keldjian earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with Honors in Illustration from Art Center College of Design, with awards from The Society of Illustrators in New York and Creative Quarterly 37. She has illustrated for GOOD Magazine, NAUTILUS Magazine, and CALTECH CONNECT. Keldjian gravitates towards playful, poetic, and kid-friendly illustration subjects, painting in gouache and acrylic ink.
The book is published by Banian Labs’ Blue Wonder Books, in the San Francisco Bay Area.
