GLENDALE —Shant Sahakian announced on Wednesday that Glendale Community College Board of Trustees President Anita Quinonez Gabrielian has endorsed his campaign for Glendale School Board District D.
“I am incredibly proud to endorse Shant Sahakian for Glendale School Board’s District D seat,” said GCC Board of Trustees President Anita Quinonez Gabrielian. “As a GCC alumnus, he sets a positive example for all of our students. His extensive experience and dedication to the community makes him the best choice for GUSD’s District D.”
Quinonez Gabrielian has served on the Glendale Community College Board of Trustees since 2002 and is currently serving her third term as President. During her current term, City of Glendale residents passed Measure GC with an overwhelming margin of votes to provide funds to prepare students and veterans for jobs, continuing education, and vocational training. Quinonez Gabrielian is also active in the community serving as an Advisory Board Member of the Pat Brown Institute for Public Affairs, Committee Member for the Glendale Unified School District’s Adelante Latinos Committee and Member of the USC Latino Alumni Association.
Glendale Community College serves over 30,000 students annually and is committed to ensuring that their students reach their education and career goals.
“As a Glendale Community College alumnus, I am truly humbled to receive the endorsement of the Board of Trustees President,” said Sahakian. “Anita’s leadership and insight on the Glendale Community College Board has helped ensure the success of our students and I look forward to working with her as a School Board Member.”
Anita Quinonez Gabrielian’s endorsement comes on the heels of endorsements from Former GUSD Board Member Sandy Russell and GUSD Board Member and Past President Christine Walters. Walters will not be running for re-election in April 2017 and Sahakian would succeed her on the Glendale School Board if elected.
