LOS ANGELES — The Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church–following a decision of the Religious and Executive Councils–announced three new pastoral appointmen’s.
Rev. Papken Charian has been assigned the pastorship of San Francisco’s St. Gregory the Illuminator Church. Charian was dispatched to the Western US Prelacy by His Holiness Aram I of the Holy See of Cilicia–and since November of 1996 has assumed a number of duties in various parishes throughout California.
Rev. Nareg Pehlivanian has been named pastor of the Forty Martyrs’ Church in Orange County. Pehlivanian has been serving the Orange County parish as a visiting pastor for the past eight months.
Rev. Khoren Baboshian will assume the pastorship of the Holy Cross Cathedral in Montebello in the absence of Rev. Papken Manuelian who is currently recovering following surgery.
