Earthquakes Registered in Transcaucasian Region

YEREVAN (Armenpress)A 6.0 magnitude earthquake whose epicenter was in Parakyar was registered in Armenia March 1 at 4:09 p.m. local time–shaking nearby cities including Yerevan–where damage was reported according to preliminary data.

According to seismic protection national services–an earthquake measuring 8.0 on the Richter Scale also took place in Azerbaijan Feb. 28 at 4:00 p.m. local time. Several aftershocks were reported as far away as the city of Goris in Armenia and Stepanakert–the capital of Nagorno Karabakh.
