Bulgarian Officials Deny Assistance to Karabakh

YEREVAN (Armenpress)Melkon Peshtimaljian–a representative of the Bulgarian Armenian community–informed Armenpress Feb. 26 that a cargo ship with food intended for Artsakh Armenia’s had been arrested in Trapison.

The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry has sent a note to Turkish authorities asking for a halt to the blockage of humanitarian assistance without any base of international law

An Armenpress reporter spoke via telephone with the Charge d’affairs of Armenia in Bulgaria– Seuda Sevan–regarding details of the case. Sevan was surprised following a question regarding the assistance and commented that "no humanitarian assistance has been sent to Artsakh Armenia’s recently.

"Moreover–the Bulgarian Armenian community is in a very difficult situation at the present time– and other foreign communities are trying to assist Bulgarian- Armenia’s in any way possible."

As far as the note is concerned–the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry says it has not sent any such note on any ship arrests.
