GLENDALEThe Armenian National Committee-Political Action Committee announced recently the endorsement of Richard "Rick" Reyes for the Glendale City Council. Reyes–who is currently a member of the five person council–is seeking a second term.
Reyes represented the City of Glendale as Mayor from April 1995-96–and has served on numerous civic and community organizations.
With extensive experience in the law-enforcement community–Reyes is an active member of CADRE Program–which seeks to advise school districts and local government officials on gangs and general safety in schools.
Furthermore–Reyes is the recipient of several awards–including City of Glendale Service Awards and the President’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to Our Youth.
Rafi Manoukian–chairman of the ANC-Glendale Chapter explained about the endorsement–"Councilman Reyes has been a good friend of the Armenian community–and he has supported issues of concern to Armenian-Americans strongly. We hope to continue our positive relations with him upon his re-election."
The ANC-PAC has already announced its endorsemen’s for incumbents Mary Ann Plumley and Mayor Sheldon Baker for the upcoming April 1 municipal election.
Last week the ANC-PAC announced its endorsement of Mary Hamilton and Victor King for Glendale Community College Board–as well as its endorsement of incumbent Jeanne Bentley– Hank Scheetz and Dennis Rihn for Glendale Unified School District Board.
