ICRC and Education Ministry Expand Cooperation

One of the more significant reforms will be new course taught at the fifth grade level based on a book entitled "My Little Planet," within which social values are strongly emphasized. The curriculum will be accompanied by guides and aides for instructors–and the basic concepts taught in the course are based on the International Humanitarian Law principles. More than 66,000 manuals along with 6,300 teacher guides have been published and distributed both in Armenia and in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Furthermore representatives of the ICRC have continually been visiting detention centers. Part of ICRC’s international mission is to ensure the welfare of detainees and prisoners–by ways of moral support and humane conditions. ICRC collected and delivered more that 575 Red Cross message during the last year in Armenia. These messages are to and from detainees and their families.
