Armenian National Party Denied Registration

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Justice Ministry of Armenia has for the second time denied the registration of the Armenian National Party–saying that the Party’s statute is in conflict with its finances. At a news conference Wednesday–Souren Soureniants–a member of the ANP Central Committee–said that delays in the ANP’s registration were strictly political. Currently–two members of the ANP Central Committee are also members of other parties. Soureniants is an administrative member of the National Democratic Union–and Tigran Ghazarian is a member of the Constitutional Right Union. According to Soureniants–both he and Ghazarian are going to resign from the above-mentioned parties after the ANP is registered. The Constituent Assembly of the Armenian National Party was held last October. The party consists of mostly 150 students and freedom fighters.
