Hovanessian Says Solitary Confinement Used After ICRC Leaves

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The International Committee of the Red Cross representatives have paid frequent visits to the Noubarashen prison–where they have been told that no defendant is currently being kept in solitary confinement cells. Vahan Hovanessian–defendant in the "Trial of 31" case has told ICRC official that–"The doors of the cell open when ICRC leaves." Asked to comment on the statement–the ICRC Office in Armenia’said they had no commen’s on the subject.
