YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Sources report that chief conductor and director of the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra Loris Tchknavorian is most likely to appeal to the Supreme Court demanding to nullify the Spandaryan Court’s decision to reinstate five musicians he dismissed. Tchknavorian dismissed two of them for violation of labor discipline–and three more for not having any contracts signed.
The musicians were allegedly dismissed because of their demand to establish trade union within the orchestra.
The court found Tchknavorian’s actions as illegal because there were no reproofs.
The court also found that the unsigned contracts did not violate the current labor legislation.
