YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Director of the "Contact-A" firm–Victor Afyan–has created new designs for solar modules which will have a dramatic affect on Armenia as an alternative source of energy.
The innovations are based on the known principle of transforming solar energy into electricity through the use of silicon photo-elemen’s. This method was patented in Russia–the US–Canada–France–Germany–Japan and Italy.
Afyan said that solar construction was successfully used in the installation of radiotelemetric systems for the collection of seismic information.
Installation of the 35 telemetric monitoring stations in Armenia was funded by the US Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
For Armenia–this is one of the most prospective types of alternative energy–particularly for mountain stations–where–according to Afyan–"there is no other alternative."
Solar modules generate energy during daytime. At night–the energy accumulated in the batteries is used. Solar modules proved to be efficient in agriculture–luminous advertisement–alarming systems and many other areas where electricity is used.
