“Trial of 31″ Appeals to be Considered

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–On Friday–the Judicial Board began its hearings on the appeals raised by the defense in the "Trial of 31."

At the request of the defense attorneys–new documen’s concerning defendant Tigran Avetissian–Arsen Yeritsian–Martin Karapetian and Gagik Karapetian were submitted to the Board.

The Board inquired about the alleged torturing of Vahan Hovanessian with the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The Board decided to make another inquiry at the Ministry of National Security and Internal Affairs of Armenia to establish the reason for the armed invasion of defendant Karapet Ghazarian’s home on July 28–1995. The Board wanted to know who the soldiers were and a list of the weapons which were confiscated.
