Moscow University to Open Branch in Stepanakert

STEPANAKERT (Noyan Tapan)–Karabakh Acting President Leonard Petrossian–in a meeting with the Pro-Rector of the Yerevan branch of the Moscow Modern Humanitarian University–Ara Saghatelian Tuesday discussed issues in connection with the scheduled opening of a branch of the institution at Stepanakert University.

Petrossian got familiarized with the working principles of the institution–the educational process which is primarily based on correspondence learning via electronic equipment.

Pointing out that Nagorno-Karabakh needs highly skilled specialists to develop its economy–Petrossian voiced willingness to assist in the initiative. Fifty student will be admitted to the department this year to start their studies in September. They will be studying law–economics–management–linguistics. The teaching will be conducted in Russian.

The same day MMHU representatives met with Minister of Education and Sciences of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic–Hamlet Asrian.
