Eurasia Foundation Views Conflict Resolution as Top Priority

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–In a meeting with the visiting President of the Eurasia Foundation–William Maynes–Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian described the present state of the negotiating process on the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict–as well as the position of Armenia and Karabakh in relation to the new proposals by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Minsk Group co-chairman.

Maynes said that the leadership of the foundation considers the settlement of the Karabakh conflict as a top priority–and said he had confidence that peace would promote the development of democratic structures in the region and an increase in economy for the two countries.

Maynes stressed the importance of freedom of press–development of an information system in the business field and the development of programs which would stimulate regional cooperation.
