YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Acting President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Leonard Petrossian met with a delegation of the Armenian Relief Society led by Chairwoman Vanuhi Isajanian on Tuesday to discuss the reconstruction of populated areas in Nagorno Karabakh.
The sides addressed a number of problems regarding the relationship between Nagorno-Karabakh and the Diaspora–as well as the Diaspora’s potential in assisting Nagorno-Karabakh.
The ARS delegation explained that their current visit to Nagorno Karabakh had been prompted by the need to learn the course of reconstruction of one of the kindergartens in Stepanakert sponsored by the ARS.
The organization also pledged to sponsor one hundred children at that kindergarten.
The ARS representatives are going to examine the possibility of establishing ARS chapters throughout Nagorno-Karabakh.
According to the discussions–the interest of having new Armenian Relief Society chapter in Nagorno-Karabakh indeed exists.
The resources for such a venture will be evaluated and the organization will make its recommendations as to the course of action.
The cultivation of the ARS spirit in Nagorno-Karabakh is needed and will add to the strengthening of Karabakh’s statehood.
