YEREVAN (RFE/RL)–The Turkish state oil company TPAO is lobbying to be included in at least one of the four new agreemen’s signed by Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR and major US oil companies earlier this month–according to the "Turkish Daily News" on Tuesday–quoting a statement released by the Turkish energy ministry. Turkey is a participant in only one of the five international consortiums created to date to exploit Azerbaijan’s Caspian oil. TPAO has a 6.75 percent stake in the consortium developing the Azeri–Chirag–and Gyuneshli fields.
