UAF Sends $2.4 Million of Aid

GLENDALE–The 94th airlift of the United Armenian Fund arrived in Yerevan on August 3–carrying humanitarian assistance worth $2.4 million.

The UAF itself provided almost $1 million worth of medicines and medical supplies to be distributed to hospitals throughout Armenia by the Health Ministry.

Organizations which contributed supplies for this airlift were : United Methodist Committee on Relief ($514,000)–Armenian General Benevolent Union ($253,000)–Dr. Raffy Hovanessian of Indiana ($143,000)–Dr. Jean-Pierre Bernhardt of Switzerland ($63,000)–Eli Lilly & Co. ($61,000)–Children’s Cardiac Center of Armenia ($58,000)–Fund for Armenian Relief ($58,000)–Dr. Mark Nazarian of California ($46,000)–Armenian Missionary Association of America ($37,000).

Other contributors of supplies for this airlift were: Armenian Students Association of Southern California ($32,000)–Armenian Dental Society of California ($21,000)–Armenian Relief Society ($21,000)–Jermakyan & Associates ($20,000)–Armenian Technology Group ($18,000)–Mardirossian & Associates ($15,000)–Sargis Safarian of Colorado ($13,000) and American University of Armenia Corporation ($11,000).

The UAF is the collective effort of the Armenian Assembly of America–the Armenian General Benevolent Union–the Armenian Missionary Association of America–the Armenian Relief Society–the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America–the Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America and the Lincy Foundation.
