Yeltsin Proposes Meeting With Caucasus Leaders

MOSCOW (Armenpress)–Russian Federation Vice-President Ramazan Abdouladibov announced Wednesday that preparations are underway for the upcoming visit of Boris Yeltsin with the leaders of Armenia–Azerbaijan and Georgia.

According to the official the meeting will be a part of an ongoing cooperative effort between Russia and the three Transcaucasian republics.

According to Itar-Tass reports–Abdouladibov did not specify a time-line for the visit–but he did say that issues discussed will include pertinent ones to the region.

Abdouladibov said that issues in the region must all include the consideration of non-national stand points as well as the maintenance of territorial integrity of the states in the area.

"Russia and Transcaucasia are inseparable and without Russia’s inclusion no viable solution can be found on the issues facing the region," said the Russian official.

Abdouladibov said that the Russian Federation has done a lot taking into consideration Azeri interests in regards to its own policies–thus–Azerbaijan should too at the same time do its most to counterbalance its relations with Russia–just as Armenia has done.
