Ex National Security Chief Expelled From Ruling ANM

YEREVAN (Respublica Armenia)–Politician and member of the National Assembly–one of the founders of the Armenian National Movement David Shahnazarian has been expelled from the party–Haik daily reported Thursday.

Expelling Shahnazarian from the ANM coincided with Edward Yegorian’s anti-government and anti-ANM announcemen’s–and his subsequent removal as the chairman of a parliamentary commission.

No secret has been made of Shahnazarian’s deteriorating ties with party leaders and his quickly-tumbling status within the party.

Yegorian announced that plans were underway for forming a new parliamentary faction under his leadership–and added that he would not rule out working with current opposition to further his agenda.
