Azeris to Participate in Tripartite Arms Probe

BAKU (Itar-Tass)–An Azeri delegation flew to Moscow Monday to join a Russian-Armenian-Azeri commission which will begin to probe several issues including the number of arms left in Armenia and Azerbaijan after the break-up of the Soviet Union.

The delegation is led by First Deputy Prime Minister Abbas Abbasov. The Azeri Security Council under President Gaidar Aliyev commissioned the delegation to Moscow at its Sunday meeting.

The presidential press service said in a release Tuesday that the meeting discussed the progress of the three-party probe–and Aliyev briefed the Azeri delegation on its stance.ANKARA
