Azerbaijan Not Happy With Primakov Meeting

BAKU (Azg)–According to the Azeri 525 Gazet–the Azeri Foreign Minister Hassan Hassanov said no positive results have been gained as a result of Russian Foreign Minister Yevgeni Primakov’s visit to Azerbaijan.

During a meeting with journalists he stressed that Azerbaijan is worried about the military agreement between Russia and Armenia–and illegal supply of weaponry to Armenia. Azerbaijan declared that Russia thus violated its duties–established within the framework of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s Minsk Group–though Russian Foreign Minister declared his country will maintain neutral.

Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arsen Gasparian said Monday that Azerbaijan had violated the essential norms of international relations–interferring in the internal affairs of other states and their bilateral relations with third states.

Expressing his displeasure with Armenian-Russian agreemen’s signed in late August–Azerbaijan expressed its disapproval of Armenian-Turkmen bilateral relations which Azerbaijan–with no ground–connects with the Caspian sea issues–Gasparian said.

According to him–the existence and development of Armenian-Turkmen multi-sided relations in no way depends on their relations with any other country.
