Lebanese Prime Minister Arrives in Armenia for Visit.

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A Lebanese delegation led by Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri arrived on a one-day official visit to Yerevan Monday. At the airport the Lebanese delegation consisting of government and parliament representatives–as well as representatives of the prime minister’s administration were met by Prime Minister Robert Kocharian–chief of the government administration Shahen Karamanoukian and other officials.

Following the scheduled talks with Levon Ter-Petrosyan–the premier and the parliament speaker–both countries’ prime ministers are expected to sign a friendship and cooperation agreement.

The delegation is also expected to go to Holy Etchmiadzin and pay a visit to the Dzidzernagabert Genocide Memorial Complex.

Talking to journalists–al-Hariri mentioned that the Armenian community of Lebanon–preserving its national traditions and identity–was fully participating in the social life of the country being represented both in the government and the parliament.

Referring to the Karabakh issue–the Lebanese leader said that Lebanon "had always supported a peaceful settlement of the conflict."
