Turkey Refutes Border Attack Reports

YEREVAN (Azg)–The Russian Itar-Tass news agency reported–quoting the Stavropol headquarters of the Russian special border troops–machine gun fire with the use of tracer bullets was opened from the Toron border post of Turkey in the direction of the Armenian border positions in Artashat Tuesday evening.

Press service of the headquarters said there were no casualties. Russian border troops– which participate in the defense of Armenian borders with Turkey– according to an Armenia-Russia military agreement–have already sent a note of protest to the Turkey’s Border Commissary–said the head of press service colonel Anatoli Lesnikh.

According to Tass reports from Turkey–that government has refuted all reports of border attacks in Armenia’s direction.
