Yardemian Victorious in Crescent Valley Elections

LA CRESCENTA–Longtime Armenian National Committee member Vasken Yardemian was elected to the Crescenta Valley Town Council and–in the process became the first Armenian-American to serve on this civic body.

Yardemian–who will represent on e of the three census tracts in the La Crescenta and Montrose area–home to the thousands of Armenian-Americans–will officially commence his duties on the nine-member Town Council beginning in Jan. 1998.

"The ANCA-WR is extremely pleased that voters of Crescenta Valley put their trust in Vasken Yardemian by electing him to the Town Council," stated Vicken Sonentz-Papazian–Executive Director of the ANCA-WR.

In addition to being a long-time active of the ANC–Yardemian–a Transportation Specialist with the Office of Planning and Policy of the South Coast Air Quality Management District–is also a member of the AESA.
