2001 World Chess Championships to be Held in Yerevan

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The FIDE Presidential Council is currently holding a session in Tunis. Attending the meeting are the organization’s vice president and Armenian Chess Federation President Vanik Zakarian and FIDE fifth European zone president Gagik Hovannisian.

The Council–according to press reports–has voted to hold the fifth World Team Chess Championships–to take place in 2001–in Yerevan.
