YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–British culture week is scheduled to be held in Armenia Jan. 19-24 to present to Armenia the traditions–culture and current events of Britain–the Ambassador of Great Britain to Armenia John Mitchiner said at a news conference on Monday.
The ambassador also said that the official opening of the Yerevan-London flight route will be held in Yerevan on January 20.
The ceremony will be attended by British Airways representatives.
A delegation of the Armenian-British parliamentary group led by Baroness Caroline Cox–a delegation of the British Council–the Department of Industry and Trade of Britain–representatives of business circles– various tourist organizations–as well as mass media representatives are expected to arrive in Armenia to attend the grand opening.
The business and industrial circles of Britain will be represented by QHSE Co. which specializes in production of medical instrumen’s; Tanex International & Grace Construction specializing in road and bridge construction; as well as the WS Atkins and Parkman consulting companies involved in engineering.
According to the Embassy’s commercial representative Ara Amazaspian–representatives of these companies are scheduled to meet with both government and private organizations of Armenia.
Ambassador Mitchiner informed that the British week in Armenia will be marked with numerous cultural events such as the exhibition of the Royal Jewelry–the demonstration of films–a symphony concert–among other activities.
