Israel Bows to Turkish Pressures on Ambassador Appointment

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Israel had decided–last year–to appoint historian Yehut Doletano as Ambassador to Turkey.

However–Turkey warned Israel that it would not approve of the appointment because Doletano had once written about the Armenian Genocide and condemned Turkish authorities.

Radio Liberty reported Tuesday that Israel had withdrawn its nomination of Doletano and a new Ambassador to Turkey will be appointed.
