Baku Denies Charges of Arms Sales to Peru

BAKU (RFE/RL)–Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense has officially denied allegations made in the January 12 "Washington Times" that Azerbaijan has sold to Peru air-to-air missiles worth $8 million–Turan news agency reported on Wednesday.

The New York Times on January 7 cited a Human Rights Watch report that gun-runners from Azerbaijan–Turkmen’stan–Ukraine–and Bulgaria had transported arms to Hutu and Tutsi militants in Burundi.
